Waiting to read this until after I see the movie. I’m sure it’s great.

Mr. Reisman sounds amazing from your intro. Could of been a series, then they would have had time to develop the 'hustlers heart' and explore how and why "each stroke, each vibration, until the tone and feel of the racket become part of your neurological system."

I thought they tried to pack too much in and the film was scattered. But what do I know. Now I want to read the book.

It's interesting that the movie felt too scattered and jam packed yet there is so much in his life/the book that isn't in there! I think reading his book in his own words and knowing it's his real life means the scattered/schizophrenic/outrageous nature of it all feels exciting and fun rather than frustrating. When we watch a movie we want a neatly organized story. When we read about a life we understand that life is rarely neat or organized, and this guy's especially so!

I agree the movie seemed scattered and frenzied but knowing that seemed to be his personality, maybe that was the point
