Gamblers season 2 out now
It’s been a while since I’ve reached out. Of course if I’m writing you now, it must be because I have something going on that I want to promo — er, share with you. Such is the life of a freelance writer, ever singing for our supper.
Perhaps you remember that I hosted a podcast a while back called Gamblers, where I profiled some interesting people who make their living by gambling on various games. Well The Ringer decided to give me another whirl, this time without being confined to my basement. I traveled across the country and around the world over the last year to bring together seven stories about some fascinating characters. The show airs on Wednesdays and our fourth episode just came out yesterday. I hope you’ll give the show a listen, subscribe or follow or whatever you do, and most importantly, tell your friends about it. You can listen to the latest episode as well as all the past episodes here.
In other news I’m now the resident NFL handicapper at the New York Times for some reason. I’ll be previewing all the games each week as well as offering my own picks against the spread and some insight into betting markets. I don’t recommend you make any bets based on my picks but I do recommend you follow along and root for me to finish the season higher than 52.4%.
Finally I wanted to share a link to my webstore I set up to sell signed copies of The Vapors. I have a whole lot of copies of the hardcover in my house and they need to be gone because they are taking up a lot of room. I did some bookstore events last year but don’t imagine I’ll be doing any more any time soon so for anyone who didn’t get a signed copy here’s your chance. It’s also not a bad gift idea so I may bug everyone about this again in a few months. But head on over to my site if you want to buy one or two signed copies of my book.
Thanks,
